Honorary Consul David Grabovac

​Dr David Grabovac was appointed Honorary Consul of The Bahamas in Australia in 2016. His appointment followed nomination by the Government of The Bahamas and approval by the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs and all Australian state and territory governments.

​As Honorary Consul, Dr Grabovac represents Bahamian interests in Australia, provides consular assistance, strengthens bilateral relations, and promotes trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.

He serves as Executive Director of an investment firm specialising in private credit and is a former policy adviser to the Australian Minister for Education. He has held senior management roles within several private colleges and has taught as a lecturer and visiting professor. In 2025, he was appointed Honorary Professor of Business and International Relations at International American University in Los Angeles.

Beyond his consular duties, he is a Patron of the Bahamian Project, an exhibition that preserves Bahamian life and has been presented at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Chance Foundation in The Bahamas.

He serves as an Envoy of the Head of the Royal House of Georgia and as Adviser to the Portuguese Office of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums. He is also a trustee of The Grabovac Foundation, which awards scholarships, and an Award Ambassador for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, a global youth development programme.

Honorary Consul Grabovac holds a Doctorate of Education from UCAM Catholic University of Murcia, a Master of Leadership and Management from the University of Newcastle, and a Bachelor of Arts (Media Communications) from Southern Cross University.

Dr Grabovac has been honoured with the Red Cross of Merit (2021). He was subsequently appointed a Knight of the Pontifical Order of St Sylvester by Pope Francis (2023) and made a Member of the Order of St John by King Charles III (2024).
